Clinical Nurse Specialist - Psychiatric
 
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) practices in an advanced role in a defined population. Through advanced nursing knowledge, he or she is responsible for the development and application of high standards and research to enhance the quality of care in the assigned areas. Function autonomously and in collaboration with health care providers as an expert clinical practitioner, researcher, consultant, leader and educator. Assess patient/family and staff educational needs and implement learning modalities to meet these needs. Develop, teach, coordinate and evaluate educational programs in collaboration with other educators/managers.
 
Requirements
Qualified candidates must have a Master’s degree, Texas RN license and a Clinical Nurse Specialist (Adult Health) license. Requires three to five years of experience, if current work experience is in a clinically related area.Psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
