Administrative Assistant

Position Summary:

The Administrative Assistant facilitates the efficient operation of the assigned department by performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs a variety of administrative functions
  • Schedules appointments, gives information to callers, and takes dictation
  • Composes memos, transcribes notes, and researches and creates presentations
  • Generates reports, handles multiple projects, and prepares and monitors invoices and expense reports
  • May assist with compiling and developing the annual budget
  • Performs a variety of tasks
  • Works under general supervision
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
  • Typically reports to a supervisor or manager
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
  • Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field required
  • Knowledge of Laws or regulations regarding Privacy Act and Confidentiality

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to maintain a sitting position
  • Typical equipment used in an Office job
