Advanced Practice Provider - NP or PA Gastroenterology

Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled NP or PA to join our Gastroenterology service at a leading hospital on Long Island, NY. This role provides an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative, patient-centered environment alongside a team of experienced gastroenterologists and support staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality care to patients with a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions.
• Conduct patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop individualized care plans.
• Assist in procedures, including endoscopy and colonoscopy, as appropriate.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
• Educate patients on disease management, treatment options, and preventive care.

Requirements:

• PA - Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program, minimum Bachelor's degree required
• NP - Current RN license and current AANP or ANCC certification

• PA - Will consider new grad with relevant PA electives or clinical background
• NP - Will consider new grad with Acute Nurse Practitioner certification (ACNP)

Certification:

• Physician Assistant Certified (PA-C) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification (ACNP)

• BLS/ACLS/AED training required and accepted from only 2 organizations:
• American Heart Association - BLS/ACLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program
• No online programs from any organization will be accepted.
• DEA registration required for those with discharge responsibilities.
