Advanced Practitioner (NP/ PA) | Hospital Medicine – Southwest Medical - Las Vegas, NV

Practitioner to join our Acute Adult Hospital Medicine Team in Las Vegas, NV.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Full time: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm
  • No weekends, no call
  • Provide comprehensive care to our Medicare
    Advantage Senior Population, focusing on value-based care
  • Take history, including chief complaint,
    presenting illness, past medical history and interval history. Performs age
    appropriate physical exam as it relates to chief complaint
  • Order lab studies when indicated. Identifies
    differential diagnosis. Assesses severity of patient’s illness and establishes
    need/time for patient evaluation
  • Will be responsible for rounding on average 12 –
    15 patients per day
  • Will collaborate with Optum Hospitalist to
    de-escalate therapies as needed, and complete thorough discharge summary
  • Will communicate closely with PCP’s via HIPPA
    compliant texting app

Required Qualifications:

  • NP or PA License with the State of Nevada
  • Graduate of an accredited AP program with board
  • Maintains BLS certification, professional
    certification as appropriate
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience providing care in
    the inpatient setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fluency in EMR systems & technology
  • Experience in providing patient care under a
    Global Risk/Medicare Advantage Model
