Position Summary
Our client is seeking an Analytical Chemist to support a critical water systems validation project at their New Albany, Ohio facility. This is a hands-on laboratory role responsible for performing analytical testing, supporting validation activities, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory data. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical chemistry background and a basic understanding of validation activities. Experience working with pharmaceutical or manufacturing water systems is highly preferred.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team supporting an important validation initiative with the potential for contract extension based on project needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of raw materials, water samples, and finished products (approximately 70%).
- Support water system validation activities by executing analytical testing and documenting results.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to troubleshoot analytical and production-related issues (15%).
- Prepare technical reports, laboratory documentation, and validation records (10%).
- Verify analytical methods and support method validation activities (5%).
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
- Maintain laboratory standards, reagents, and chemical inventory.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, laboratory safety, and quality standards.
- Follow all laboratory procedures and regulatory requirements while maintaining accurate documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
- Prior analytical laboratory experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, or manufacturing environment.
- Basic understanding of analytical method validation.
- Experience supporting or working with water systems (PW/WFI or similar) is highly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-driven laboratory environment.
