LCMC Health is seeking a Board-Eligible or Board-Certified Anesthesiologist to join our growing anesthesia services team. This role provides comprehensive anesthetic care across surgical and diagnostic settings and plays a critical role in ensuring patient safety, quality outcomes, and multidisciplinary collaboration throughout the hospital.
What You'll Do (Your Everyday)
As an Anesthesiologist with LCMC Health, you will:
- Provide anesthesia and sedation services for patients undergoing surgical procedures and diagnostic studies
- Perform comprehensive pre-anesthetic evaluations and manage intraoperative anesthesia and post-anesthetic care
- Consult and collaborate with surgeons, proceduralists, and appropriate medical subspecialists
- Deliver advanced life support, respiratory care, and physiologic support throughout the hospital as required
- Provide perioperative and consultative pain management services
- Direct, plan, and supervise anesthesia and sedation services for patients under your care
- Ensure anesthesia care delivery meets recognized standards, including patient consent, infection control, safety practices, and life-support protocols
- Complete required pre- and post-procedural anesthesia/sedation evaluations within established timelines
- Ensure accurate clinical documentation and regulatory reporting compliance
- Oversee anesthesia equipment needs, including inspection, testing, and maintenance
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities, addressing identified issues to improve patient outcomes
- Provide technical oversight and support to sedation teams and ensure high-quality, appropriate anesthesia care
The Must-Haves
Education
- Doctoral Degree in Medicine (MD) or Osteopathy (DO)
Licensure & Certifications (Required)
- Unrestricted Medical Physician License - Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners
- Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS) License - Louisiana
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association
Skills & Professional Requirements
- Documented continued competence in anesthesiology to maintain clinical privileges
- Compliance with Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements
- Demonstrated competence in advanced life support and airway management
- Commitment to quality patient care, safety, and interdisciplinary teamwork
