QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
2. Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of New Jersey
3. Current Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
4. Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
5. Required criminal history background check
6. Proof of citizenship or legal resident alien status
7. Current residency in New Jersey, approved residency waiver or candidate agrees to obtain residency within one year of employment
REPORTS TO: Building Principal/Supervisor of Special Education and Student Services
JOB GOAL:
1. Improve Communication Abilities - Help individuals develop or regain effective communication skills (e.g., speaking, understanding language, using augmentative communication)
2. Address Speech Disorders - Treat issues such as articulation disorders, fluency disorders (e.g. stuttering), and voice disorders
3. Treat Language Disorders - Assist with expressive (speaking) and receptive (understanding) language problems, both developmental and acquired (e.g., due to stroke or brain injury)
4. Collaborate with Others - Work as part of a multidisciplinary team including teachers, physicians, occupational therapists, and families
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 2026-2027 SY Leave of Absence Replacement Position (November 1, 2026- April 2, 2027)
PAY RATE: $61,894 MTEA Salary Guide, Prorated for Time Designated
