SALARY RANGE
According to Salmon River Teachers Association Contract
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- New York State Certification for a teacher of the Speech and Hearing
- Ability to establish good rapport with students, staff and parents
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
MAJOR DUTIES
- Provides a therapeutic program to meet individual needs of speech, hearing and language to disabled children
- Provides a thorough assessment and diagnosis of speech, voice, hearing and language impairments
- Provides screening to identify speech disabled children at regular intervals and at specified levels, including Pre-K and Kindergarten screening
- Provides appropriate individualized programs of therapy to meet individual students' needs and correct existing speech or language disabilities
- Collaborates with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement therapy by suggestions for the students' daily activities
- Provides information, support, and counseling to parents and families when appropriate
- Completes Medicaid requirements as directed by the Director of Special Education
