FTE Per Diem

Eligible for a 10% addition for per Diem status

OBJECTIVE SUMMARY: The provider is primarily responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of illness and injury in the hospital setting

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Examines patients using all types of medical equipment, instruments and tests
• Orders or performs various tests, analysis, and x-rays to provide information on a patient's condition
• Participation in interdisciplinary rounds
• Diagnoses patient's condition based on exams, tests, and reports
• Prescribes and administers drugs and treatments
• Vaccinates patients to immunize against communicable disease
• Performs surgery and related procedures within scope of training
• Instructs individuals in ways to preserve health and prevent disease
• Reports birth, deaths, and the outbreak of contagious disease to appropriate government authorities
• Coordinates or accomplishes admission to the hospital
• Skilled at EKG interpretation and arrhythmia recognition
• Initiates consultation to other services
• Collaborates with other health care professionals in the planning, implementation and coordination of health teaching and counseling of the patient, family or patient representative.
• Participates in provider-related Quality Improvement Activities
• Works collaboratively with nursing staff and nursing leadership on quality improvement processes and with patient care objectives

REQUIRED EDUCATION: Completion of courses from an accredited school with certification granted by accrediting body.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 3 years' experience as acute care hospitalist; 3 years practice in a swing or SNF setting

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS: Valid state license to practice as a provider. Board Certified preferred. BLS Certification and ACLS required.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities



WORK ENVIRONMENT: Exposed to all patient infectious disease and body fluids. Function in emergencies and incidents.

Eligibility Requirements - Employees regularly scheduled at least 20 hours per week.

Employee Dependents - Your legal spouse or domestic partner, Dependent children until age 26.

Waiting Period - 1st of the month following 30 days from your date of hire.
