Position Summary

The primary location of this position is the Biltmore Park campus in Asheville, NC. This is an on-site, in-person position.

The School of Nursing invites applications for an Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in the Nursing Anesthesia Program. This is a 12-month, tenure-track appointment, available in the accredited (CCNE and AANA-COA) nursing graduate program at Western Carolina University. Rank is commensurate with experience and determined upon hire. The School expects the successful candidate to possess outstanding communication skills, demonstrate evidence of sustained scholarly activity, and a willingness to teach and develop online and traditional courses, advise students, participate on committees, and other university activities.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in nurse anesthesia and doctorate in nursing or related field and licensure as an RN in North Carolina or eligible for licensure. The individual must also be a certified registered nurse anesthetist and practice in NC or eligible to practice in NC. Candidates without a doctoral degree will be expected to obtain a doctoral degree by August 1, 2024.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral degree in nursing or related field. Experience with simulation, regional anesthesia.
