Assistant Nurse Manager - Surgery

Pay Range: $52.61/hr - $69.02/hr - $85.42/hr
*Please note, the highest starting rate as a new hire is $69.02/hr, based on applicable experience

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Nurse Manager, under the direction of the Nurse Manager and Director Surgery Services, assists with the development, maintenance, and evaluation of an environment that supports the practice of nursing and the delivery of high quality patient care on a twenty-four hour basis for the Surgery Services Department. The Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for the monitoring of staff and quality of procedures in their area of supervision. The Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for carrying out assignments in a manner to support success in patient care, financial management, human resources management, leadership, quality and operational management objectives. The Assistant Nurse Manager participates in program development and unit performance improvement. The Assistant Nurse Manager may assume duties in the absence of the Nurse Manager, may fulfill the role of the Charge Nurse, or provide direct patient care or education as needed. The Assistant Nurse Manager consistently demonstrates the core values of Enloe Medical Center and serves as a role model to other employees.

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
* Two years clinical nursing experience in Perioperative Services with at least one year in the Operating Room

Desired:
* Charge Nurse experience in the relevant area of expertise
* Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field
* Two years Critical Care experience
* Membership in a professional organization and attendance to conferences regarding management and supervision of employees

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
Minimum:
* Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing
* Current CPR recognition
* Current ACLS recognition
* Current PALS recognition within one year of employment

Desired:
*Specialty Certification related to area of specialty: Surgical Services (CNOR)

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality improvement processes is necessary as well as the ability to successfully integrate these into practice for the assigned unit. Must have knowledge of or ability to learn financial management and reporting, quality improvement processes, and human resources management. Must be able to effectively monitor, evaluate and administer the resources of their assigned area, and make substantiated recommendations regarding resource allocation needs for future planning purposes. Must be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally both one-on-one and in groups. Must have the ability to lead, motivate, delegate, analyze information and problem solve. Must demonstrate technical competence, professional clinical judgment. Behavior should be reflective of Enloe Medical Center core values.
