Summary

Required - 7 or More Years of experience in life sciences, pharma or informatics industry working with Clinical Trials Data, Real World, Discovery Data etc.

The candidate will work in R&D Excellence - MARS Team (Metrics, Analytics, Reporting & Solutions) and will focus on a variety of "Data Science" projects across the board leveraging data from multiple internal R&D Systems and external Data Vendors enabling "Data Driven" culture across all R&D. The candidate will have direct accountability to manage Data Science Team for development of data science models enabling proactive risk monitoring, pattern detection, historic baselining, and predictive modeling. This a very technical as well as leadership role and we are looking for a candidate with strong technical acumen and passion for data science programming and experience with management of Data Scientists. The candidate will manage the development of advanced analytics including statistical modeling, algorithm development, AI and machine learning to tackle adhoc business questions/ problems and to inform day-to-day role-based process decisions leveraging Clinical Operational Data. Candidate will partner with Functional leaders to define, measure, and report out performance metrics against agreed upon targets including root cause analysis and commentary collection for variances.

Responsibilities

- Data Analysis

o Apply descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics to inform business decisions throughout all stages of clinical trial delivery

o Translate data analysis into formalized messaging, insights and actions using PowerPoint and communicate effectively to stakeholders

- Forecasting

o Build advanced statistical modeling and tools to support Forecasting, Allocation and Time reporting of clinical trial operational progress and milestones

- Competitive Intelligence Benchmarking

o Responsible for the analyzing trial related data to support external benchmarking studies along with driving the internal communication and use of the respective data outputs/tools

o Extract insights from public source data to inform current trial planning

o Create technical means to identify new patients and sites using Real-World epidemiology data

- Risk Mgmt Data Surveillance

o Develop a centralized mechanism to capture, analyze, track, and alert the mitigation of site, country, trial, and project risks issues for ongoing and future clinical trials

- Metrics

o Produce KPIs, KRIs, KQIs and QTLs for all levels and functions within RD, partnering with existing metrics SMEs to ensure harmonization

o Build Trackers for measuring Clinical Trial performance against Annual Targets Non-Drug related initiatives

o Benchmark 3rd Party performance against internal trials to inform instream actions and long-term strategic decisions

- Team Management

o Manage a team of 3~4 Data Scientists

Qualifications: Successful candidates will be able to meet the qualifications below with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Education Qualifications (from an accredited college or university)

- Bachelor's Degree in Data Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or University required
- Master's Degree in Data Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or University preferred

Experience Qualifications

- 7 or More Years of experience in life sciences, pharma or informatics industry working with Clinical Trials Data, Real World, Discovery Data etc. required
- 7 or More Years of hands on experience of applying data science methods and tools to diverse problems using R and/or Python. Expert programmer in at least one language, with experience working in production environments. We have a strong preference for R, python and Java required

- Strong experience in building supervised and unsupervised machine learning methods and deploying them into production (i.e., regression models, random forests, decision trees, NLP, clustering etc.)

- 4 or More Years of experience with Big Data Technologies (Spark, Hadoop etc.) required

- 4 or More Years of proven ability to work in a global and highly matrix environment preferred
