Associate Scientist/Assistant Veterinary technician

Job Description

The Associate Scientist position under the guidance of Laboratory Animal Veterinarian and Director will provide study support and world-class animal care to impact drug development and discovery and improve human health. Study support may include:

  • Compound administration

  • Dosing (All routes)

  • Sampling

  • Tissue collection

Responsibilities include understanding and executing in vivo studies including collaborating with researchers obtaining formulated diets, monitoring and maintaining equipment, perform veterinary rounds including weekends and holidays, assist with perioperative care, provide husbandry oversite on weekends including room checks and emergency facility issues, and learn new procedures as needed.

The ideal candidate should be team-oriented, value workplace collaboration and can work with minimal to no supervision.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • BS in Biology or related in vivo field with 0-1 years’ experience

OR

  • High School Diploma and 5+ years’ experience in a Research in vivo field and AAALAS certification
