JOB SUMMARY
This specialist will work for the Sheridan Memorial ENT Clinic and will be responsible for having the knowledge and skills related to assessment and identification, management and treatment, and prevention and education of hearing problems and disorders, leading to improved outcomes and quality of life.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- The clinical Audiologist will work closely with the SMH ENT physician.
- Documentation of physical findings and patient care plan will be recorded in the patient's medical record each time the patient is seen.
- Hearing Aid sales and fittings may become part of the practice.
- The position requires population specific competencies, to include pediatrics.
- Employee will participate in performance improvement and CQI activities as necessary.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals as well as healthcare consumers.
- Will promote a patient-centered case environment.
- Work will include a setting common goals, merging resources, providing education, and cross-training roles.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Experience / License and Certifications
- Master's in Audiology, required. Doctoral degree in Audiology, preferred.
- Certified by the American Board of Audiology or the American Speech-Language Hearing Association, required.
- Current WY license, required.
- Current BLS certification, required.
- One year (1) of clinical practice experience, preferred.
Specific demands not listed: Possible exposure to blood and or body fluids / infectious disease / hazardous waste requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Exposure to odorous chemicals / specimens and Latex products.
Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required.
