Federal Program /Behavioral Scientist– Silver Spring, MD
The Behavioral Scientist will support program evaluations and research activities to develop, assess, and transition psychological health products intended to improve warfighter wellness. The Behavioral Scientist will report to a manager or unit/department head.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate with Army field units to conduct initial training to verify that the skills targeted in the training program are taught as designed.
• Conduct and modify all training materials.
• Generates written reports, presents results to various audiences, and publishes in peer-reviewed journals.
• Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Expected to travel frequently for on-site data collections at military installations; may be remotely stationed in strategic regions to optimize interactions with military units.
• Provides consultation on complex projects and is the top-level contributor/specialist.
• Interpret specific program policies and associated principles as well as a comprehensive and detailed knowledge of directorate functions, workflow, and managerial styles to plan, organize and implement assigned programs.
Qualifications
• PhD in area of specialty and 3-5 years of experience.
• Specific fields of study may include resilience, unit cohesion, ethical leadership, mindfulness, or medical product evaluations
• Must be proficient in survey development, focus group and interview development, protocol writing, regulatory approval, and quantitative or qualitative analysis.
• Preferred minimum of 3 years working in a Military setting.
• Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Public Trust clearance preferred.
Clearance Requirement: Public Trust / High Risk
As this position is categorized as Public Trust / High Risk position, candidates will be subject to appropriate Background Investigation.
Job Location: Silver Spring, MD
As this position will be required to travel to federal government sites, candidate must be residing near a national airport.
Travel:
Frequent domestic travel as required (Up to 50% domestic travel). Potential to travel internationally periodically.
About the Role
This job is CONTINGENT upon contract award, client approval, completion of a favorable background investigation, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust / High Risk clearance.
