Billing Associate/Coding - Emergency Services

SUMMARY: The Ambulance Billing/ Coding Associate is responsible and accountable for timely insurance billing, insurance follow-up and monitoring denials. Review and enter Ambulance charges and assign ICD-10 codes for ambulance accounts.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Experience: 1 year of customer service or insurance related experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certification: National Academy of Professional Ambulance Coding Certificate preferred or must be obtained within 90 days of employment.

Other: Ability to read, write and communicate effectively. Basic computer and office equipment skills required. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to operate effectively in a team as well as independently, contributing positively to team operations and working relationships is required.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure.
