Biologist
NGS / Molecular Biology Research Scientist
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's and/or master's degree in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, or a related field with 3-5 years of laboratory research experience.
- Strong molecular biology expertise, including:
- Nucleic acid extraction and purification
- Nucleic acid quantification
- NGS library preparation and quality control
- qPCR
- Strong background in next-generation sequencing technologies and their applications, including quantification, sequencing, and data quality control; Illumina experience preferred.
- Direct experience with bulk RNA-seq and amplicon sequencing.
- Direct experience with single-cell RNA-seq and single-nucleus RNA-seq library preparation is required.
- Familiarity with multiple scRNA-seq/snRNA-seq platforms, such as:
- 10x Genomics Chromium
- Illumina PIP-seq
- ScaleBio
- Parse Biosciences
Additional Skills / Preferences
- Familiarity with CRISPR-based gene editing and high-throughput screening is a plus.
- Experience with laboratory automation is a plus, including platforms such as:
- Mantis
- Integra systems
- Liquid handling systems
- SPT Labtech Firefly
- Tecan
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience documenting experimental work in electronic laboratory notebook systems.
