Biomedical Equipment Technician ONSITE
Location: University of Missouri Hospital, Columbia, MO
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to medical equipment users.
- Troubleshoot and determine the cause of equipment issues.
- Record results and identify changes in test methods or equipment.
- Take routine and accurate measurements of equipment performance.
- Maintain and calibrate medical equipment to industry standards.
- Perform preventative maintenance on assigned medical equipment.
- Conduct safety inspections and initiate necessary repairs or service for general electronic and low-to-medium-risk medical equipment.
- Record detailed equipment history using a computerized equipment database.
- Understand networking as it relates to medical equipment and data flow to the electronic medical records.
Basic Qualifications:
- At least 4 years of combined related work experience and higher education.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service, call center, hospitality, or technical support.
- Minimum 3 years of higher education and/or additional work experience directly related to the job duties.
- Associate's degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of clinical or healthcare work experience.
- Certified Biomedical Engineering Technologist (CBET) - AAMI Credentials Institute (ACI).
- Basic electronics training from a junior college, military, or trade school, or graduation from a Biomedical Technologist program that includes medical equipment training.
Expectations:
- Must reside in or around the Columbia, MO area.
- Ability to lift up to 50-75 lbs (i.e., equipment).
- Willingness to work additional or irregular hours as needed.
- Adherence to corporate and organizational security policies and procedures.
- Understanding of personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets.
- Taking appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within the scope of the position.

US: Hiring Range in USD from $18.17 to $34.62 per hour; from: $37,800 to $72,000 per annum.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
