Catering Associate

  • Position Summary
    • The Catering Associate is responsible for patient food service on assigned units (menu selections, tray delivery and pick-up, special requests and in-between meal food delivery.
  • Education
    • High School Diploma - Preferred
  • Experience
    • 1 - 2 Years Foodservice, customer service - Preferred
  • License & Certification
    • None Required
  • Core Job Functions
    • Refers patient questions or concerns to the clinical dietitian as appropriate. Collaborates with dietitian to provide nutrition care as requested.
    • Obtains information regarding new admissions, transfers and discharges and diet changes. Provides late trays, special requests as needed. Communicates any patient issues to nurse or managers.
    • Obtains meal selections from patients, offering menu alternatives as permitted on diet, considering food allergies/intolerances, cultural, ethnic and religious preferences. Delivers meals and nourishments, rounds after meals, and retrieves trays from rooms.
    • Completes weekly food service patient satisfaction surveys on assigned unit. Responds to patient and nursing requests through zone phone availability. Communicates complaints or special needs to appropriate manager.
