CERTIFIED ATHLETIC TRAINER

  • POSITION SUMMARY

    • This employee is responsible to complete assigned duties as directed by the orthopedics and sports medicine clinics. This position is to support the work of the Sports Medicine Clinic. The employee will assist in returning of injured patients to activity and providing guidance and education along the way. Injuries range from all types of musculoskeletal complaints to concussion management to osteoarthritis and other musculoskeletal conditions.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

    • Licenses and Certifications Required

      • NATA-BOC certification
      • Current ND Athletic Training licensure
      • Health Care Provider CPR
      • Valid driver's license
    • Educational Requirements

      • Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, as evidenced by licensure
      • Certificate preferred in exercise rehabilitation/training (example: Corporate Fitness Exercise Physiology, CSCS, ACE, ACSM-CPT, ACSM-EIM, NASM, ISSA, etc.)
    • Experience Requirements

      • None
    • Special Skills or Training Requirements

      • Organize time well to meet job expectations and performance standards
      • Establish good rapport with other healthcare workers
      • Be adaptive to changing work situations
      • Communicate orally with all customers
      • Be flexible to changing work environment and to function well under pressure
      • Teach one-on-one to large groups of people
      • Should be able to address the needs of athletes of all ages by assessment, treatment or referral to the medical personnel competent in their care
      • Be proficient in computer skills including word and excel and can utilize the internet without difficulty
