Responsibilities

The medical physicist is responsible for ensuring quality care in the use of radiation producing sources as well as imaging equipment and the protection of patients and staff from radiation. They advise and/or consult with the physicians on the desired dose for treatment along with overseeing and managing dosimetry. The medical physicist is responsible for all equipment calibration and safe radiation practice and procedures as well as quality control on imaging equipment. They are expected to provide leadership as well as a wide degree of creativity and technical skills

Job Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $259,719- $320,830 (Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)

Qualifications

Education

Required: Ph D in Medical Radiation Physics

Preferred: N/A

Experience

Required: 5 years' experience minimal

Experience with Varian True beam Technology, Eclipse Planning, Aria record and verify systems, SBRT & SRS

Preferred: Experience with True beam Edge

Experience with Calypso

License(s)

Required: Full Texas Medical Physics License, Certified by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic

Radiological Physics or American Board of Medical Physics in Radiation Oncology Physics.

Preferred: N/A

Special Skills

Required: A working knowledge of Title 25, Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 289, Texas Regulations for

Radiation Control, Posses computer networking skills necessary to establish and maintain Radiation Therapy

Planning systems.

Preferred: N/A

Other

Required: Possess ability to supervise and oversee others.

Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with staff, physicians, managers and patients
