Provides services at the Pediatric and Adolescent Transformative Health (PATH) Clinic. PATH is a 12-member collaborative led by Saint Anthony and will provide an innovative structure for a Behavioral Health Home serving children, adolescents, and families on the west and southwest sides of Chicago.

Position Purpose: The Licensed Clinical Psychologist will work specifically to assess the needs of the patients at the PATH Clinic. Based on the assessment results, this role will develop treatment goals and plans to meet the needs of the pediatric patients. This role will provide direct patient care, which may include individual and group therapy. This position will also serve as a mental health resource within the clinic and its partners, supporting needs related to crisis, stress or cultural issues.

Essential Functions:

This position requires a well-trained and certified trauma therapist especially focusing on cognitive processing therapy for sexual trauma and PTSD patients. This person would have experience working with patients on smoke cessation, substance abuse, binge-eating, trauma recovery and other mental illness.

  • Preferably this person has received training in child psychology and is competent in psychological evaluations/assessment.
  • Conduct assessments to determine needs of the patients.
  • Develop treatment goals and plans based on the information obtain from the assessment instrument.
  • May also be asked to provide assistance in defining changes required within Saint Anthony Hospital and its clinics to expand the services to the Asian community.
  • Serve as the mental health professional resource person within the hospital such as crisis, stress, or cultural issues.

Ø Planning/organizing - the individual prioritizes and plans work activities and uses time efficiently.

Ø Quality control - the individual demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality; ability to edit work for spelling and grammar and presents numerical data effectively.

Ø Adaptability - the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and can deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.

General Job Requirements:

  • Doctorate Degree in Psychology Required
  • Active Illinois Psychology License
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
  • Must have a strong practice for treatments of pediatric population in the greater Chicago area. Must have the skills and experience to supervise, if needed, other Clinical Psychologists.
  • Must have experience training in child psychology and is competent in psychological evaluations/assessments.
  • Must have 8 or more years of clinical practice employed in community mental health agency, psychiatric hospital, substance addiction treatment center, university counseling centers, and private practice providing psychotherapy and psychological evaluations to a diverse patient population, with strong knowledge and clinical competence in multicultural psychology.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
