Pay Rate: $37.96/hr. On W2 without benefits ($ 32.87 + $5.09 (SCA Benefits - Mandatory)

Duration: 6+ months

Shift:  06:00 AM–06:00 PM.

Job Description:

• Valid BLS Certificate is Mandatory
• High School Degree General Educational Development (GED) equivalency. Basic medical terminology required.
  Equivalency Determination Request: The Contractor shall not request an equivalency determination as a substitute for education requirements on this position.
  Contract Worker Standard Qualifications: Th e standard qualifications (duties) for the labor category are as follows:
• Receives and opens packages for the reference laboratory.
• Perform basic administrative tasks to include but not limited to answering phones, filing paperwork, and preparing laboratory specimens.
• Registers laboratory specimens in the computer system in preparation for testing by clinical personnel.
• IAW International Air Transport Association (IATA) shipping standards, receive specimen packages, unpack specimen boxes, verify patient samples received, accession and label samples. Deliver specimens to different areas of the laboratory. Receive reports from other laboratories, process the reports, and enter them into the laboratory information system.
• Communicates with referring laboratories or providers to solve problems.
• Accessions patients into the laboratory rosters with accession numbers; updates status daily.
• Shall initiate and complete occurrence reports and root cause analysis for errors, accidents, and procedural deviations of which the CP is involved.

Experience:

• A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience within the last five (5) years working as a Clinical Laboratory Assistant, or related experience in a Clinical Laboratory dealing with a variety of laboratory tests.
