POSITION SUMMARY
As an active member of the Nursing Leadership team, the Clinical Nurse Educator provides staff nurse development through education, consultation, facilitation, change and research. Reporting directly to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Clinical Nurse Educator fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence in the delivery of evidence-based nursing practice. In collaboration with the Nursing Leadership team, the Clinical Nurse Educator conducts ongoing educational needs assessments, develops and implements new nurse orientation, ongoing education/professional development, and evaluation of nurse competencies. The Clinical Nurse Educator is instrumental in creating a culture of nursing excellence at BMH in order to meet the diverse needs of our patients.
EDUCATION:
- BSN required, MSN preferred.
EXPERIENCE/SKILL SETS:
- Minimum five years current as a Registered Nurse;
- Critical Care experience is highly desirable;
- Demonstrated communication, teaching and mentoring skills;
- Demonstrated expert practice skills;
- Working knowledge of CMS, CoP and evidence-based practices; and
- Previous hospital-based clinical education experience is preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION(S):
- Registered Nurse, currently licensed by the State of Vermont.
