We are seeking a compassionate, motivated Palliative Care Social Worker to join our team at Scripps Green in La Jolla, CA. Our vibrant team is dedicated to serving the community with the highest quality of palliative care. You will be a member of the multidisciplinary Palliative Care Team and address social work needs for patients with serious illness.
Social Workers provide an important role within the hospital by assisting patient and families with personal and environmental problems which predispose illness or which interfere with their obtaining maximum benefits from medical care. Provides peer supervision for other staff, education for social work interns and/or assists with program planning and organization of services. Demonstrates ability to perform competencies as outlined in unit specific competency assessment tools. Demonstrates age specific care as established for a Clinical Social Worker in assigned area.
This is a full time position (M-F) at our outpatient sites in Encinitas and La Jolla.

Minimum 1 year of experience as a Social Worker in Oncology, Palliative Care or Hospice
Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited University/College OR Masters degree in Family Therapy (MFT)
BLS American Heart Association
Working knowledge of the laws, regulations, policies and appeal procedures as relative to the Federal, State and other reimbursement programs
Must be able to display good working relationships with patients, families, medical and nursing personnel, and all others employed at the hospital
Bilingual/Spanish highly preferred
LCSW (Licensed by the State of CA Behavioral Science Examiners Board)
