- JOB SUMMARY
- Accurately and efficiently prepares and submits claims to assigned components of our Accounts Receivable to ensure maximum reimbursement, timely billing and collection of hospital accounts pertaining to designated sections of accounts. Ensures that all statements and forms are completed accurately and comprehensively. Responsible for identifying and notifying supervision of any changes in our billing procedures to ensure that the hospital remains within commercial insurance, Workers' Compensation, and special management guidelines. Effectively manages designated section of accounts in an effort to expedite the collection of hospital accounts. Responsible for meeting all collection goals as established for the designated section of accounts. Responsibilities also include accurately calculating discount and insurance carrier allowances and ensuring that insurance carriers are reimbursing the hospital accurately, accepting patient payments, answering verbal or written inquiries, updating patient and account information, accurately processing adjustments and refunds, ensuring that all accounts reside in the proper financial class at all times, completing reports as directed, acts as a role model for office employees by presenting oneself in a courteous, efficient, and professional manner at all times. - JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent. Technical school with courses in related field preferred . Type minimum of 40wpm.
- Job Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, basic computer skills, and knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 coding. Experience in hospital billing preferred.
