Job Description & Requirements
Computed Tomography Technologist - (CT Tech)
StartDate: ASAP
Available Shifts: 8 D
Pay Rate: $2572.00 - $2650.00
This CT Technologist opportunity is based at a modern outpatient imaging clinic in the Orlando, Florida area, offering you the chance to advance your skills in a destination city known for its energy, sunshine, and endless things to do. Orlando is a vibrant metropolitan area with world-famous theme parks, beautiful lakes, and an exciting restaurant and entertainment scene, yet it also offers peaceful residential neighborhoods, parks, and trails that make it easy to enjoy life outside of work.
Living and working in the Orlando area means year-round access to outdoor activities like kayaking, paddleboarding, golf, and walking or biking on scenic trails. You are never far from major attractions, live sports, arts and cultural events, and weekend festivals, and the coast is just a short drive away when you want to visit some of Florida’s best beaches. With a diverse population and a strong healthcare presence, the region offers a welcoming community and amenities to fit many lifestyles.
The outpatient imaging clinic is designed to provide a comfortable, efficient experience for patients and staff, with modern CT technology, digital imaging workflows, and thoughtfully organized clinical spaces. As a CT Technologist here, you will work with a supportive team of technologists, radiologists, nurses, and front office professionals who share a commitment to high-quality imaging, safety, and exceptional patient service. You can expect a collaborative environment where your expertise is valued and where there is a clear focus on consistent protocols, image quality, and streamlined patient care.
In this role, your typical day will center on performing a variety of outpatient CT examinations, from routine body and neuro studies to more specialized exams depending on physician orders and clinical indications. You will review orders, verify patient history, explain procedures, screen for contraindications, and ensure proper preparation for each exam, including contrast use when indicated. Patient care and communication are key, as you will guide patients through the process, help ease anxiety, and maintain a professional, calm environment.
Your responsibilities will include positioning patients accurately, selecting appropriate technical factors, and using dose optimization techniques to obtain high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining patient safety. You will monitor patients during and after exams as appropriate, particularly when contrast agents are used, and promptly communicate any concerns or unusual findings to the radiologist or nurse. Working with PACS and the radiology information system, you will complete accurate documentation, exam labeling, and image transmission to support timely interpretation.
The caseload is focused on scheduled outpatient exams, which typically allows for a more predictable workflow compared to acute hospital settings. Patient volumes are paced to support both efficiency and individualized care. You will work closely with schedulers and front office staff to keep the day running smoothly, manage add-on exams when needed, and help minimize patient wait times. The CT area is equipped with modern scanners and monitoring equipment, and you will participate in routine equipment checks, basic troubleshooting, and communication with service vendors when needed.
A typical schedule is based on daytime or extended day shifts that align with outpatient clinic hours, allowing for more consistent work-life balance. Weekend or evening coverage, if required, is usually limited and structured. Patient ratios are designed to support safe, thorough care, with workflows built around standard imaging protocols and ready access to radiologists for questions and clarifications.
You will also be involved in maintaining quality and safety standards, including adherence to radiation safety guidelines, infection prevention practices, and clinic policies. There may be opportunities to contribute to protocol development, quality improvement projects, or additional training as the clinic continues to grow and incorporate new technology.
For CT Technologists seeking a role that combines advanced outpatient imaging practice with the lifestyle benefits of living in the Orlando area, this position offers a compelling mix of professional challenge and personal enjoyment. You can refine your skills on contemporary CT equipment, work within a professional and collegial team, and enjoy all that one of Florida’s most dynamic regions has to offer just outside the clinic doors.
