In this CT Technologist role, you will be part of a collaborative imaging team within a community-focused hospital that provides a full range of diagnostic and emergency services. The CT department supports inpatient, outpatient, and emergency patients, offering a diverse and engaging caseload that includes routine studies, trauma and emergency imaging, neurological and vascular exams, oncologic imaging, and pre- and post-operative assessments. You will work closely with radiologists, nurses, and other members of the care team to ensure timely, accurate imaging and high-quality patient care.
A typical day includes room and equipment preparation, patient assessment and education, positioning and imaging according to established protocols, contrast administration per policy, and image review and transfer through PACS. Patient volumes vary by shift, with an emphasis on efficient, safe throughput while maintaining a calm, patient-centered environment. You may care for a mix of adult and geriatric patients, with occasional adolescent cases, depending on the hospital’s service profile. CT suites are designed to support efficient workflow and patient comfort, with modern scanners and digital systems integrated into the broader imaging and EMR platforms.
The department operates 24/7 to support both scheduled and emergent imaging. Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, with participation in an on-call rotation to support urgent and emergent cases after hours. Patient ratios are structured to ensure that CT technologists can focus on safe imaging practices, radiation dose optimization, and compassionate patient care, while also collaborating with technologist colleagues and support staff to manage workflow.
