  • DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

    • Prepares all hot foods and cold entrees for patients and cafeteria patrons in accord with menus and following standardized recipes. Is knowledgeable in food preparation techniques and the use of food preparation equipment and the restrictions of various diets. Understands age appropriate criteria for food selections and uses this knowledge in food preparation. Maintains a safe, sanitary environment in accord with Morris Hospital policy and IDPH regulations and other applicable regulatory agency standards. Observes the D-10 philosophy. Operates and properly maintains food service equipment, including the dish machine and cash register. Sets a good example for other staff in performance and attitude.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

    • Professional/Educational

      • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
      • Food service experience is required.
      • Food Service Manager License is required. New hires & internal promotions have 6 months from date of hire to obtain this.
    • Personal

      • Must demonstrate high standards of personal cleanliness and hygiene.
      • Must demonstrate good social skills and a commitment to quality.
      • Must demonstrate willingness to work as a member of a team.
