This position may work in a hybrid and/or remote capacity. The Corporate Counsel - Healthcare attorney is a key member of the Quantum Health Legal team. They partner closely throughout the business, providing counsel extensively in a market comprised of health plans, third party vendors and healthcare/health plan consultants. This attorney understands the complexities and legal challenges surrounding healthcare delivery and care coordination in the digital marketplace and continuously seeks opportunities to enhance the organization’s ability to deliver value to patients and clients alike.What you’ll do
Bring knowledge of and experience with legal issues pertaining to health care transactions, allowing you to provide appropriate, business-oriented legal expertise to all assigned departments.
Apply innovative problem-solving skills and practical business judgment to maximize revenues, minimize risk and foster long-term client relationships.
Monitor changes in state and federal laws that might impact the company, including various privacy and security regulations, with an emphasis on HIPAA.
Autonomously draft and negotiate complex service agreements and business associate agreements in the Employee Benefit space with a wide variety of customers who are Plan Sponsors under ERISA and their vendors.
Incorporate learnings from legal/compliance matters into organizational trainings and a system of continuous improvement for organizational processes and procedures.
Guide and collaborate with paralegals and administrative professionals.
Continuously improve and evolve our healthcare compliance position through collaboration with internal clients.
Provide other general corporate legal services as needed by internal clients.

What you’ll bring
Education / Licensure: Juris Doctor degree and an active license to practice law in Ohio required.
10+ years’ combined relevant experience in law firm and/or internal corporate legal department; internal experience with a healthcare organization and/or health plan/payer preferred.
Demonstrated experience with varying commercial transactions (e.g., employee benefit vendor agreements, health plan related agreements, outsourcing, managed services, etc.
Excellent writing and editing skills, comfortable drafting and refining complex legal documents relatively autonomously.
Ability to establish strong relationships with and influence internal and external stakeholders alike, articulating complicated legal matters in a digestible manner.
Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and other privacy regulations.
Flexible and collaborative approach to work – equally comfortable working in cross-functional project teams and autonomously leading major project initiatives.
