Job Title: Correctional Licensed Practical Nurse

Location: Camp Hill, PA 17001

Duration: Long Term

Shift: 14:00 PM - 22:30 PM

Hours/Week:  40 Hours/week

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs general nursing care and clinical duties within the scope of licensure, training, and qualifications.
• Reports to work regularly and completes assigned duties for the entire shift.
• Works overtime as required by management.
• Navigates stairways within housing units to provide nursing assistance when needed.
• Interacts with inmate patients to resolve healthcare-related conflicts and supervises inmates working in the medical department.
• Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Lifts and supports patients during repositioning, transfers, and ambulation.
• Pushes and pulls wheelchairs and carts used for meals and medications.
• Demonstrates adequate upper-extremity manual dexterity to perform direct patient care.
• Maintains sufficient corrected vision to assess patients and ensure personal safety.
• Maintains adequate hearing to communicate, use telephones, and perform assessments using a stethoscope.
• Implements nursing care plans as directed by Registered Nurses or physicians.
• Monitors and records vital signs and observes patients for changes in physical and emotional conditions.
• Prepares and administers physician-ordered medications and documents medication administration and treatments.
• Performs prescribed therapeutic treatments and restorative care techniques.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, personal hygiene, and basic physical care needs.
• Reinforces patient education to support quality healthcare delivery.
• Follows established infection prevention and control procedures.
• Maintains adequate inventory of medical supplies and equipment in treatment areas.
• Assists in preparing medical incident reports related to injuries and sudden illnesses.
• Sterilizes medical supplies and instruments using chemical and steam sterilization methods.
• Performs visual acuity tests, tele-binocular examinations, electrocardiograms (EKGs), and other assigned clinical procedures.
• Responds to medical emergencies and administers first aid and CPR when appropriate.
• Maintains clinical competency by attending mandatory in-service training, external training sessions, and meetings.

Requirements:

• LPN License.
• Basic Life Support Certification.
