Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
Position Summary:
Assists an Occupational Therapist with rehabilitative activities for patients who may have developmental, physical and emotional impairments.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares equipment for treatment and may perform clerical duties for the department
- Performs a variety of tasks
- A limited degree of creativity and latitude is required
- Typically reports to an occupational therapist
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
- Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree and Occupational Therapy Assistant certification and licensure in State of Idaho
- 2 years' experience working in a hospital setting, preferably in the rehabilitation department
- Ability to work in a variety of patient care settings
- Medical terminology
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
- Typical equipment used in a clinical job
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend
- Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment
- Must be able to assist in patient transfer
