CT Tech- 13 Week Contract

Procare USA, founded in 2011, is a full-service medical recruiting and staffing agency that connects registered nurses and allied health professionals with travel, per diem, and permanent positions while supporting clinicians to improve patient care.

Responsibilities

• Operate CT scanners to perform high-quality diagnostic imaging exams according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Prepare patients for procedures by verifying identity, explaining the exam, screening for contraindications, and obtaining informed consent when required.
• Administer IV contrast agents safely when authorized, monitor patients for adverse reactions, and follow emergency protocols if needed.
• Position patients and select appropriate imaging parameters to optimize diagnostic image quality while minimizing radiation exposure.
• Review images for technical adequacy, communicate findings to radiologists or supervising physicians, and repeat images when necessary.
• Maintain accurate patient records, complete required documentation in the PACS/EMR, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and facility policies.
• Perform routine equipment quality checks, report malfunctions, and assist with basic troubleshooting and inventory management.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary clinical teams to coordinate patient flow and provide compassionate patient care.

Required Skills

• Current ARRT (Radiography) certification with CT registration or eligibility for CT certification.
• State licensure as a radiologic technologist where required.
• Proven experience operating CT equipment and familiarity with CT protocols and cross-sectional anatomy.
• Strong IV access skills and knowledge of contrast media administration and safety.
• Proficiency with PACS, CT console software, and electronic medical records (EMR).
• Solid understanding of radiation safety principles and dose reduction techniques (ALARA).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to comfort and instruct patients of all ages.
• Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced settings and adapt to variable schedules (including on-call or weekend shifts as required).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program (or equivalent).
• Active ARRT certification in Radiography and CT registration (or eligible and able to obtain CT certification promptly).
• State radiologic technologist license as required by assignment location.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of CT experience preferred; new grads with strong clinical competence may be considered for some roles.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS preferred for certain facilities.
• Clear background check and drug screening as required by facility and assignment.
