Position Summary
We are seeking a qualified and experienced CT Technologist for a 2-month assignment. The ideal candidate will perform high-quality computed tomography (CT) and diagnostic radiography procedures while ensuring patient safety, image quality, and compliance with all regulatory and departmental standards. The technologist will work collaboratively with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare staff to provide exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
- Perform CT and diagnostic radiographic examinations according to established protocols and physician orders.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures, explain procedures, and address patient concerns.
- Administer contrast media in accordance with New York State regulations and departmental policies.
- Ensure proper patient positioning and operation of CT and radiographic equipment to obtain diagnostic-quality images.
- Review images for quality, completeness, and accuracy before submission to radiologists.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within electronic systems.
- Utilize and navigate EMR, RIS, HIS, PACS, and modality-specific software efficiently.
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and infection control procedures.
- Monitor patients during imaging procedures and respond appropriately to adverse reactions or emergencies.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
Qualifications (Required)
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiography program.
- Current New York State License in Radiography.
- New York State certification to inject contrast media.
- Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography and Computed Tomography.
- Maintenance of continuing education credits as required by ARRT.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in Diagnostic Imaging.
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Radiology Information Systems (RIS), Hospital Information Systems (HIS), Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), and modality-specific software.
