CT Technologist Pool

Under a radiologist's or supervisor's direction, the CT Technologist performs computerized tomography procedures. The technologist conducts a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. You will perform data entry operations as a CT Technologist using the appropriate hospital software package and provide specialized technical skills, critical thinking, problem solving, and medical knowledge, including anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology. Correlates related patient data and applies physics principles to obtain optimal images for rendering a diagnosis.

Hourly Pay Rate: $46.00

Qualifications

Education:

  • Requires an Associate's Degree in Radiography and/or a completed certificate program in CT.


Experience:

  • One (1) year of medical imaging related experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills and abilities is preferred.
  • Prefer one (1) year CT experience.


Certification/Licensure:

  • AZ Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) and American Radiologic Technologists ARRT (R) or
  • AZ Certified Nuclear Med Technologist (CNMT) and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT(NM) or
  • AZ Certified Nuclear Med Technologist (CNMT) and Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB (CNMT)) or
  • AZ Certified Radiation Therapy Technologist (CTT) and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT (T) and AZ Certified CT Technologist (CTCT)
  • A Preceptor/Temporary license is acceptable at the time of hire and American Radiologic Technologists ARRT (CT) must be obtained within two years.
  • A BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center is required upon hire or transfer.
  • Must have a valid Level 1 (I) Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at time of hire. Must complete fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of hire date. You must present your actual card within 90 days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her unit
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's departmental policies and procedures
  • Requires the ability to read, write, and speak English effectively.
