Responsibilities

The Director – Commercial, Business Analyst is responsible for leading the Commercial Business Analyst function. An effective Director, Business Analyst advises and delivers on strategy with end-to-end digital transformation. In this role the leader works to understand overarching business strategy, and ensures members of the team work to uncover insights that deliver a best in class solutions for the Commercial organization. Guiding and working with team members to develop recommendations and solutions that are sharply focused while taking the full operating model into account, from people and intellectual capital to technology and processes. When the time comes to put technology to work, the lead ensures that team members bring a demonstrated depth of knowledge to solution design, selection and implementation.

The responsibilities of this position include direction, oversight, execution and monitoring of the requirements gathering process and documentation to support new technology implementations, continuous improvement initiatives and existing client expansion projects that are administered by the Business Technology organization, including facilitation of requirements gathering with the Business Partner team, business Subject Matter Experts and business leadership.

The Director – Commercial, Business Analyst will have responsibility for supporting the Commercial business lines with technology expertise and input of information, materials and meeting support for the business development process. This will include technology strategy, program design that aligns with the technology go forward vision and developing relationships throughout the organization that allow for extensive knowledge of the business functions, technologies that support them and how to integrate these services into a larger multi-channel commercialization approach.

  • Setting strategic direction of business requirements facilitation and documentation processes
  • Personnel development, operational management, and project assignment
  • Able to bridge the gap between business objectives and the teams working to implement solutions that meet client objectives
  • Implements continuous improvement processes to ensure the Business Analyst team is consistently delivering effective and value added requirements direction.
  • Facilitation of complex business requirements and solution-ing sessions with and within a matrix team
  • Drive project schedule and budget tracking via close coordination with assigned Project Management personnel
  • Experience working in a matrix environment and demonstrated ability to balance and coordinate multiple directions within a project and add value to the communication stream
  • Translate information learned and proposed during sales process to the implementation and operational teams
  • Help clients solve problems with available technology and processes
  • Prepare and deliver detailed operational and ‘technical’ presentations explaining services to customers and prospective customers, partnering with the business development team and business leaders, Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support
  • Creating technical presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet client needs
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to articulate and document processes and workflows
  • Experience working in adherence and regulatory environments, and ability to balance both with flexibility in solution design


Job Requirements

Along with demonstrated initiative, uncompromised integrity and a results-oriented mindset, the ideal candidate has:

Required

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience managing small team of direct reports
  • 5+ years of experience in an equivalent role
  • One or more years of experience working in in the Commercial side of the pharmaceutical industry
  • Extensive broad technology experience, 5+ years of experience in IT PM, BA or similar role by function
  • Ability to travel ~ up to 25%


Preferred

  • Experience managing requirements facilitation and documentation process
  • Contribution to a software development/ support team in multiple roles and responsibilities for minimum of 10 years
  • Formal project management training, Exposure to the PMI methodology
  • Experience working with Multi/ Omni Channel and Data Integration projects, especially in pharmaceutical industry
