Lycoming College is now accepting applications for a Director of Health Services, Nurse Practitioner. The Director of Health Services, Nurse Practitioner’s main functions include, being responsible for the administration and management of activities in the department of Health Services, providing comprehensive health care to the students of the College, collaborating with student life and campus staff to provide an outstanding student experience and participating in a lead capacity with COVID related initiatives in support of the College’s commitment to create and maintain a safe residential environment.
The Director is responsible for coordinating all health services at Lycoming College that influence and impact the health and well-being of the students. As a clinician, the Director provides comprehensive health care and has an established network for specialty care needs of the students. In addition, the Director is responsible for developing educational services that enhance the health and wellness of Lycoming students. The role of Director of Health Services assumes a leadership role in defining goals, standards, policies, and procedures. S/he demonstrates comprehensive clinical knowledge, facilitates a professional collaboration between colleagues and creates an environment that promotes growth and development of Lycoming College students. This is a supervising role, overseeing an administrative assistant and nursing staff.
Requirements/Qualifications: The successful candidate will have strong communication skills (both oral and written), strong supervisory and decision-making skills, as well as strong computer skills. A Master of Science degree is strongly preferred as well as a current license as a Registered Nurse Practitioner in Pennsylvania Professionals. Professionals with MD, DO, PA or RN degrees with appropriate and relevant experience may be considered. A minimum of 5 years recent experience providing health care is required, preference is experience in higher education, primary care or urgent care settings. Having administrative oversight/managerial experience in a medical-setting is required while having experience with a traditional college-age population is preferred. Current certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for medical provider is required. A post-offer pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check is required.
