JOB DESCRIPTIONfor APP

TheAdvanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for theevaluation and treatment of patients with acute and/or chronicdiscomfort secondary to illness ortraumatic injury, within the resources and confines ofthe on-site clinic. This includes an interview of the patient,reviewing the patient's medical/surgical history,medications/allergies, performing a physical evaluation,and composing a differential diagnosis list with the aim of aneventual diagnosis.All services are practiced within thescope of the APP, and emergent/urgent consultation with theAmphibious Medics medical director is encouraged whennecessary. The APP is a construction site medicalrepresentative that works independently with limitedsupervision. This includes, but is not limited to working in afirst aid capacity for injured workers, analyzing tasks forpotential safety hazards, implementing and participating in a

siteHealth & Wellness program, and participating in the workerscompensation process.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Obtains appropriatemedical history and physical data on patients. Reviewsexisting patient records.
  • Interprets andintegrates data.
  • Performsappropriate level of physical exam and documents findings.
  • Establishes aDifferential Diagnosis list.
  • Rarely, and inconjunction with a mandatory consultation with theAmphibious Medics medical director, will order off-campuslaboratory and diagnostic procedures.
  • Synthesizes data todetermine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan.
  • Administersmedication and manages medication as necessary.
  • Instructs patientand family regarding medications, treatment instructions,and possible outcomes to monitor.
  • Consultappropriately with the Amphibious Medics medical director.
  • Ensures theAmphibious Medics medical director is kept informed of anyunusual or significant findings concerning their patients.
  • Performs otherduties as may be assigned consistent with professional credentials.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Triage patientphone calls when needed.
  • Provide triage,first aid and/or a referral to outside medical provider, if indicated
  • Attends requiredmedical and multidisciplinary meetings and training.
  • Participates incommittees if requested.
  • Participates inprofessional development activities and maintainsprofessional affiliations.
  • Help coordinate anannual, semi-annual, or quarterly onsite health fair • Participate in frequent medical and safety awarenessmeetings with construction workers
  • Maintain on-siteinventory supplies, restock and clean equipment used in thetreatment of employees
  • Communicate withoutside medical providers on worker's injury/healingprogression and providing direct follow-up care with worker
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Complies with allClinic policies.
  • Provide dailyactivity logs to the safety team and management team • Frequent "site walks" to interact with both workers and managers

Requirements

Requirements

  • The ideal APPcandidate will have a minimum of one (1) year experienceworking in DIRECT patient care.
  • Additionally, theAPP needs to have sound communication skills, and is able towork in a collaborative manner with other team-members.
  • Must be a licensed Nurse Practitioner
  • Ability to lift andcarry a minimum of 35 lbs.
  • Ability to walkand/or stand a minimum of five hours in a workday
  • Proficient inMicrosoft Office

Education/Certification

  • Minimum of a valid Nurse Practitioner license
  • Valid CPRcertification at the Basic Life Support for HealthcareProvider level (American Heart Association) or ProfessionalRescuer (American Red Cross)

It's a plus ifyou have any of the following:

  • Experience workingwith OSHA regulations, specifically in 29 CFR 1910
  • Experience working onlarge-scale construction sites
  • Experience with theworkers' compensation claim process
  • Instructorcertification for First Aid, CPR, and AED training
  • Anactive OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 card
