Environmental Engineer

The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for an Environmental Engineer (GS-0819-13) to work at Joint Base Andrews, MD. This is an interdisciplinary position and will consider (Biologist 0401 and Physical Scientist 1301 series candidates).

Member will manage environmental execution for 90 wings across 54 states and territories. Champion EIAP and steer complex EAs/EISs for critical weapon system bed down and airspace mission requirements with high impact consultations. Drive enterprise-wide MILCON and airspace modernization.

Salary: $121,785 - $158,322

Situational Telework: Authorized

Travel: Up to 25%

Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship required.

Required to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.

May be required to obtain job-related certifications such as REM, AICP or Professional Engineer.

Professional registration or license in one of the 50 states or territories is desired but not required.

The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

Knowledge of professional principles, practices, techniques, and procedures of the environmental laws, and regulations (NEPA, air, water, hazardous waste, pollution prevention, and Environmental Safety and Health Compliance Assessment Management Program {ESOHCAMP}, etc.) to effectively perform program management functions associated with project development, execution, training, and advisory services in compliance; pollution prevention; environmental planning including knowledge of the planning, programming, and budgeting system (PPBS).

Knowledge of health, safety, security, and environmental regulations, practices, and procedures.

Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions of the environmental division to a wide assortment of customers.

Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.

At a minimum, qualification requirements stipulated by the US Office of Personnel Management for the 0401, 0819, 1301 occupational series must be met.
