Environmental Floor Technician

What You'll Do
As a Floor Technician, you'll play an important role in maintaining the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of our facilities. Responsibilities include:
- Perform general floor care, cleaning, and maintenance throughout University Health facilities.
- Operate floor cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- Help keep floors clean, polished, and well maintained in patient care and public areas.
- Use cleaning equipment, chemicals, and supplies according to established safety procedures.
- Follow Joint Commission, Texas Department of Health, University Health, and departmental guidelines.
- Identify and report maintenance concerns, spills, discarded needles or syringes, and other potential safety hazards.
- Assist team leaders with cleanup and proper disposal procedures when needed.
- Respond promptly to assigned duties and assist in other areas during urgent or emergency situations.
- Provide courteous, professional service when interacting with patients, visitors, and fellow employees.
What We're Looking For
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Ability to operate floor cleaning equipment.
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred
- Four years of previous floor care experience.
- Completion of work-related or on-the-job vocational training.
