Job Summary and Qualifications

  • Receives inpatients and outpatients for the Cardiac Rehab program through physician order.
  • Performa patient assessments/reassessments on a regular basis in accordance with AACVPR guidelines.
  • Assesses and evaluates the patient's rehabilitation and educational needs, then formulates and documents the patient's plan of care based on this assessment as well as findings from the chart.
  • Monitors and documents the patient's cardiopulmonary status during exercise.
  • Observes and interprets cardiac rhythms, determining need for intervention and physician notification.
  • In collaboration with interdisciplinary members of the team, formulates a plan of care including expected outcomes for each patient based on diagnosis derived from patient assessments.
  • Maintains professional relationships and conveys relevant information.
  • Accurately enters patient charges for services
  • Provides pre-operative teaching for open heart surgery patients (inpatient and outpatient).
  • Participates in Cardiac Connection chest pain seminars and outreach education as needed. Facilitates amenities program for Open Heart Surgery patients.
  • Responds appropriately to all emergencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Practices and adheres to the "Code of Conduct" and "Mission and Value Statement."



What qualifications you will need:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • Bachelor's Degree in exercise physiology
  • 1+ Years of experience in a healthcare setting



Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) is a full-service hospital with 318+ patient beds. Our hospital is the largest medical facility in the region.
