Summary
Faculty Medical Physicists have the predominant responsibility of advancing the academic vision and mission of the Moffitt Cancer Center and the Department of Radiation Oncology by active participation in clinical care, educational programs and innovative research. It is also expected that faculty members will pursue independent, investigator-initiated research. Faculty members perform clinical activities such as quality assurance, comprehensive continuing quality improvement, development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure quality and safety, clinical translation of new technology and assisting in the physics and dosimetry aspects of clinical trials. All team members must work effectively and collegially with the entire medical staff (physicians, physicists, dosimetrists, therapists, nurses, etc.).
Practices medicine within the scope of authority and privileges granted by Moffitt
Cancer Center. Provides patient care under the auspices of Moffitt Medical
Group, and serves as member of the academic medical enterprise; advancing the
institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer. The
position may span the clinical and research enterprise, and supports patient care,
research, and education.
The Chief will allocate the position's effort between clinical, research,
educational and administrative activities.
