Engineering Associates, LLC, a subsidiary of Dycom Industries, is a specialized engineering consulting firm providing state-of-the-art engineering and design services for the telecommunications industry. We are seeking an experienced Field Engineer in Yuma, Arizona. Overview: The Field Engineer will provide local support of OSP Network Implementation. This position will be responsible for assisting OSP Planners, OSP Design Engineers and Construction Partners with design and implementation of OSP networks. The Field Engineer will engage with engineering and construction partners, subcontractors, in-house personnel, and key customer contacts, including but not limited to government and local agencies, to coordinate implementation of the local OSP Telecommunications Network. The Field Engineer will perform responsibilities as needed by our telecommunication customer(s) in the area and will not supervise any employees. Responsibilities:Locate, sketch and document detailed information of OSP facilities including, but not limited to: cables, poles, ground structures, terminals, manholes, hand holes, pedestals, electronic equipment and customer premises/building informationMeasure attachment heights, span distances and structure dimensionsMeasure distances from existing/proposed OSP (outside plant construction) facilitiesTake measurements, field notes, and produce sketches for TCP designIdentify bonding and ground requirementsTake digital pictures of field conditions and facilities required for site surveys and taking field notesInput applicable information into company and/or customer databases, as required Qualifications:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 2+ years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Working knowledge of the telecommunications industry standards, practices, and regulations pertaining to the engineering of outside plant facilitiesExperience with aerial and underground utilities.Understanding of OSP facilities, construction techniques and conduit recordsUnderstanding of general permitting requirements for State Department of Transportation, as well as other state, county, and city permitting agenciesUnderstanding of OSP records and job printsKnowledge of easement, right of way and permit documentsStrong organizational skills and experience with Excel and WordEffective communication skills and professional accountabilityMust have reliable transportation and a clean driving record.Must be able to walk at least two miles per day carrying equipment in all types of weather.Must be located in Yuma, Arizona - this is not a remote position Benefits: Engineering Associates (EA) offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.
