Front Desk Coordinator II
Position Summary
The Front Desk Coordinator II takes a pro-active approach utilizing available resources to best serve the patient population. This position provides general front office support to professional staff while working in a team model to improve the patient's experience, create better communication and access to care, and support processes that will improve patient satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will be caring, compassionate and be able to put the patients at ease using their excellent communication skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greets all patients, family members, and fellow staff courteously and professionally.
- Recording patient interview, history, and chief complaint, verifies insurance eligibility, and collects patient copays.
- Scheduling appointments, answering incoming calls, and retrieving voicemails.
- Scheduling diagnostic radiology tests and specialty tests.
- Performs all department clerical functions including but not limited to answering phone calls, faxing, filing, copying, scanning, as well as discharge functions.
- Manages office supplies and ensures stock is current, appropriate, and par levels maintained.
- Maintains a clean and secure work area to protect patient privacy.
- Helping assistant with clinical paperwork for providers
- Recording patient interview, history, and chief complaint
- Checking patients' insurance eligibility
- Performs other duties as assigned that affect the upkeep of patient charts and the flow of patient care.
- Collect Copayments and balance at the end of the day
- Performs all registration, admission, and discharge functions per policies
- Maintains an in-depth expertise of and serve as a centralized resource for insurance referral and authorization requirements, keeping the clinic informed of changes.
- Contacts insurance companies to obtain referrals and prior authorizations.
EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Relative experience of at least one year, in an office setting, as a Front Desk Coordinator or similar role.
- Demonstrated strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work well as a member of a team.
Preferred:
- Medical Assistant.
- Previous experience in an ambulatory or specialty practice setting.
- Computer skills.
- Bi-Lingual speaking, Spanish and English.
