Fundamental Pharmacy Technician
Fundamental Pharmacy Technician Duties:
Assist the pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians in the performance of clerical, technical and non-professional functions in the provision of pharmaceutical services to patients, staff and physicians. The Delivery Pharmacy Technician works under the supervision of the Pharmacist-on-duty.
- Deliver medication to nursing units and outpatient areas with the hospital.
- Processes printed medication orders and stock medication request as needed.
- Processes medication trays when needed.
- Answers telephone calls and responds to customer service window.
- Replaces returned medication to appropriate storage areas.
- Monitors par levels, reorders, and medications when needed.
- Repackage pharmaceutical into unit dose packages.
Fundamental Pharmacy Technician Requirements:
- High School or Equivalent (GED)
- Entry Level
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician within 12 months is recommended but not required.
- Must have knowledge of pharmacy. Must exhibit a working knowledge of drug names, doses, strengths, and formulations.
- Must successfully complete Pharmacy Technician competency programs through on-the-job exposure.
Salary Range: $14.15 to 21.00/hr (based on experience)
- Night and Evening Shift differential available
