General Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description:
Maintains continuity of service for the heating, cooling, steam, gas, water treatment, general utilities, emergency back up systems, equipment and machinery necessary for the functioning of Hospital and allied property. Installs, troubleshoots and repairs complex mechanical equipment and distribution systems, involving work of varied nature with minimum supervision. Observes and enforces safety regulations and practices and maintains safety and fire equipment.
Required Skills:
1. General knowledge of use of personal computer and ability to learn operation software applications, i.e., METASYS Energy Management System.
2. Knowledgeable of standards and codes applicable to health care facilities.
3. Must be thoroughly familiar with tools and methods of trade.
4. Able to read and follow blueprints
5. MSDS information
6. Knowledgeable of Life Safety code, NFDA and ADA requirements and specifications
Required Experience:
A. Work Experience:
Four years related work experience.
B. License/Registration/Certification:
Certified or lincesed in plumbing, pipefitting, welding or boilers preferred.
C. Education and Training:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an approved and accredited trade school course, or trade apprenticeship program in plant operations and maintenance preferred.
