A 25-bed, faith-based, acute care hospital and healthcare campus is seeking a general surgeon for locum tenens coverage.
Pendleton, Oregon, a city of 17,000 nestled in the foothills of the Blue Mountains, is known for its Pendleton Round-Up, a world-famous rodeo, and the Pendleton Woolen Mills, a historic textile company, showcasing a blend of Western heritage and modern charm.
This position offers a full weekly schedule combining clinic, surgical, and hospital call responsibilities. Mondays consist of clinic from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, seeing approximately 1416 patients, with hospital call coverage continuing until 7:30 AM Tuesday. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the surgeon performs OR procedures from 7:30 AM to noon, followed by clinic from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, seeing 1012 patients, and remains on hospital call through the following morning. Wednesdays and Fridays are dedicated to surgeries from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with call coverage starting at the end of the workday and continuing overnight. The weekend includes 24-hour call on both Saturday and Sunday, with Sunday coverage ending at 5:30 AM Monday to allow for handoff to the full-time general surgeon.
