Histology Technologist (HTL)

Overview:
Our pathology laboratory is seeking an experienced Histology Technologist (HTL) to support the preparation and processing of tissue specimens for microscopic evaluation. This role focuses on gross examination, tissue processing, staining, and slide preparation in a quality-driven laboratory environment. The position offers flexibility, independence, and a stable workflow within a supportive team.
Position Offers:
- Part-time flexible schedule, Monday–Friday (6:00 AM–10:00 PM)
- Competitive compensation: $52,000–$62,400 per year (DOE)

Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, log, batch, process, and prepare tissue specimens for review
- Perform gross visual examination of skin specimens and prepare tissue blocks
- Cut, mount, embed, and stain tissue slides following SOPs, including routine and special stains with proper controls
- Manage daily workload, prioritize tasks, and complete assignments on time
- Maintain required logs, maintenance records, and inventory tracking
- Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Maintain safe and clean work areas, operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, support workflow, and assist team members as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of histology experience in a clinical or pathology lab setting
- ASCP certification in Histotechnology
- Experience with tissue processing, microtomy, and staining techniques
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems, quality control, and safety standards
