HIT Project Manager
Position Summary:
The HIT Project Manager (PM) is responsible for developing and managing IS/IT projects including their cost, time, and scope. The project manager is responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, troubleshooting, and timely completion of projects, while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments, and goals of the organization. Responsibilities of PM include: project planning, administrative assistance to SCIO, communication plan development, allocating tasks and setting milestones. The PM monitors teams to make sure goals and objectives are being kept. The PM has knowledge of larger landscape without neglecting granular details while tracking project health, staying alert for risk and resolving issues as they arise. Maintains standards and monitors scope with project quality. The PM monitors and reports on project progress under the direction of the SCIO including defined project scope, goals, deliverables, tasks, project resource allocation, timeline, and budgetary requirements for all IS/IT projects. PM is able to lead meetings and critically think enabling proper problem solving and resource allocation as issues arise during projects with the goal of ensuring timely and positive project implementation.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Informatics, Healthcare Management, Project Management, or Business required.
- Masters degree preferred.
Experience:
- A minimum of five (5) years healthcare or business experience required.
- A minimum of two (2) years of IT/IS project management experience required.
- Experience with a variety of clinical software systems in healthcare setting required.
- A minimum of two (2) year of specific Cerner experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Project Management Professional (PMP)Certification by the Project Management Institute (PMI) or equivalent certification required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with nursing colleagues, allied health professionals, physicians, department heads, and members of executive leadership required.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Explorer and PowerPoint required.
