Hospitalist Program Coordinator
- DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION
- Under the direction of the Chief of Hospital Medicine and Senior Director, Hospital-Based Physician Organization (or their designee) the Program Coordinator, Hospital Medicine is the lead administrator responsible for managing the daily operations and advanced administrative support for the BHS Hospitalist Program. The Program Coordinator, Hospital Medicine is responsible for contributing to the achievement of divisional goals by simultaneous oversight of multiple special projects under the direction (as assigned) of / by the Chief Hospitalist and/or Senior Director, Hospital-Based Physician Organization.
- POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
- Experience:
- Three years of healthcare administration/support experience, preferably in a hospital environment.
- Must have experience in engaging and collaborating with providers, management and staff in projects and initiatives.
- Familiarity with EMR systems, preferably including Meditech.
- Supervisory experience, or equivalent level of broad responsibility preferred.
- Education and Training:
- Associate degree in a healthcare related or business related field, or relevant equivalent experience is required.

- Other Requirements:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Proven ability to interact effectively with physicians, patients, and other health care team members .
- Demonstrated ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently to field issues as they arise.
- Proven ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple job tasks daily to meet the needs of the department.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Polaris and provider scheduling software is required.
